Dark is not the absence of light

I am very impressed with the emotional intensity of this piece. Great use of a classic framing element with the curve of the wall. This is the sort of thing that sets your work above the baseline for digital work. I'm really taken with the simplicity of this illustration, especially the way the tiled floor adds a much-needed hint of detail to this scene. The layers of decay on which he steps really adds a poignancy to the scene, as though he's heading deeper into despair and into the complexities of wherever it is he's headed. I actually don't have a suggestion for this piece, as I really like the lighting and composition. If I were to struggle to find one suggestion, it would be an interest in seeing you experiment more with DOF blurring for the background. But that's a moot point -- this is really good as it is. GREAT WORK, as always! Keep it up.
